Pigeons, Salvador, Bahia, 2002

from the series 'Brazil'

April 2013

Someone once remarked that to get a good pigeon shot is a sign of being a good photographer. Presumably this is because the subject matter is quite boring so it takes a degree of skill in order to create something more interesting. I originally went to Brazil to try and document the beach culture in Rio de Janeiro but somehow I found myself gravitating towards the north of the country where I stayed for about six weeks. I still prefer the pigeon shot I took in Rio but this one seemed to become more popular on flickr.
